Woodland Walk…

Posted By on Feb 5, 2016 |

So today once again I was feeling pretty low and sorry for myself – well not actually sorry for myself but feb up with myself… yawn yawn yawn…

But then I truly did feel even worse as I looked at dog and saw his forlorn look – oh how he just longed to go out for a walk… it wasn’t a complicated ask he just wished to get out of these four walls and run… so I decided that if nothing else was accomplished today at least the dog would be happy – so I combined school pick up with a walk in the woods next to the school – and oh I can’t tell you how glad I am that I did that… maybe I should follow the dogs advice more often…

Look down...

Look down…

I look down and wonder what these green shoots nestled, just peaking through the duvet of leaves, what will they become?  Daffodils? Bluebells?   – oh Bluebells how that would be my wish but I somehow doubt it… :( whatever they become it will be lovely to see when they are all out – like a beautiful colourful bedspread over the duvet :)

I am going to treat myself to a season ticket to Coton Manor again this year and I am going to make a date in my diary to go at least once a month while it is open – Ideally twice a month (sadly they are closed on a Sunday which can make it tricky to fit it in).

So looking down again… I love the way the moss is hugging the tree bottoms… I am not too sure why exactly as I am not a fan of nature textures EG mushrooms they make me go all goose bumpy…

OMG... baby daffodils

OMG… baby daffodils

While wandering along looking down at the change in the woods I suddenly spied these… So some are definitely daffs… and oh how that yellow popped out :) – these were the only bunch I saw in bloom in the entire 2 hour walk… so we will see what transpires over the next few weeks?

How Wonderful

How Wonderful

Oh now this really made my heart sing… I have only ever read about these or seen them for sale as single boxes a little bit like bird houses… but this whole thing – I only hope and wish and keep everything crossed that small creatures are indeed using this hotel and enjoying it as it was meant… so lovingly and thoughtfully meant.

So the main aim of the walk was so the dog could run and run and run… he did just that…

Here I come....

Here I come….

I wish I had managed to get a decent photo of him trying to burrow in the bracken which is way up at the top of this trail – oh how funny it was to watch and see him come out the other side all sneezy :)

Woodland Sculpture

Woodland Sculpture

Many many moons ago I went to a woodland (I am sure it was in Derbyshire Dales somewhere… that was full of sculpture… made out of twigs/ branches etc… I can’t remember the name of it or seem to find it with minimal looking on the internet… I have a lovely book all about it… where? oh in storage – while I am surrounded in all this crap the books I want to get my hands on are tucked away in boxes! oh how sad that make me… one day I will maybe have a library of all our books… maybe I should make that a goal for 2016…

Look Up

Look Up

oh almost like a parasol… that beautiful long stem and then a canopy giving shade at the top – if only parasols were still the rage I think I might have started designing some taking this as my starting point… ummm food for thought… as they just might come back into fashion?!?

Look Up

Look Up

A watery sun trying to poke out…

Oh my…

As we (stormy and I) start to leave the woods for today – I stumble across this… and stumble I did – I was making my way back to the car to go and get the kids, concentrating more on if I was heading in the right direction (when you are a stupid as I am directions are rather important ) however I swear the only one I have spied today… and one of my very favouite blossoms… oh such love and joy.

With love xx

All these photos were taken with my iPhone 5 – many are out of focus that dives me SO SO CRAZY so I am so so sorry also –  at some points dog on lead… and holding camera doesn’t go well –  wind blowing… never going to work if you want in focus images! and others I can only blame myself… I must of just lacked attention!
